Meet the newest member of the Minnesota Twins
Fans of West Delaware can take a sigh of relief now that the waiting is over...
BJ Hermsen, 18, son of Kevin and Beverly Hermsen, of Masonville and 2008 West Delaware graduate, signed with the Minnesota Twins on Thursday night, Aug. 14. Hermsen received a $650,000 signing bonus and $80,000 towards a college education. He will fly to Fort Myers, Fla. in mid-September for four weeks with the Instructional League.
He will then come back home until February when he will go to spring training. Hermsen opted out of a full-ride scholarship to play baseball at Oregon State this fall.
